MONACO. Fairytales are the inspiration behind Misaki’s 2008 jewellery collection to be shown at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes this month.
Three kinds of fairytale are represented in the new collection:
SPARKLING WITCH
The jewellery mixes round shapes with a disco inspiration, sparkling items, such as crystals and cubic zirconia, and dark tones (black mother of pearl, verdigris pearl with purple reflections).
Boa set: Inspired by snakeskin, the scales are in silver, black mother of pearl and white crystals.
Fizz set: Mystic talisman made of a steel-blue baroque Akoya pearl marking the centre of a cubic zirconia
paved silver circle.
Cruella set: Verdigris pearl with purple reflection held in silver claws.
Web set: Flesh-coloured pearl and clear crystals, caught in yellow gold like a dewdrop in a cobweb. The round spider of the pendant can be worn as a manchette-bangle.
Sparkle set: Silver snake wrapped around a disco ball shape. Vitrail-like crystals with rainbow reflection.
Cuff set: The rose gold-plated cuffs have pure lines, circular inside and square outside.
VICTORIAN FAIRYTALE
Inspired by myths and legends of the 19th Century, the jewellery is made of thin chains and elements representing flowers and other natural symbols. Pearls are coloured from violet pink to cherry red.
Rosae set: Rose buds set with violet pearls, thorny stems in silver and crystal beads with rainbow reflection.
Caribbean set: Pirate spirit mixing exotic flowers, skulls and pearls in shades of blue-grey, light pink and white.
Stardust set: Pink cultured pearls linked to silver circles paved with white crystals.
Orchidée set: Graphic representation of an orchid flower set with pearls in shades of dark cherry red, tea and old rose.
Josephine set: Black pearls with cherry red reflection and metallic pattern black plated. The pendant represents a key and is set with crystals.
SATINE IN WONDERLAND
Mixing the Moulin Rouge cabaret spirit with Alice in Wonderland in Belle Epoque times, the jewellery combines sweet figurative shapes with colourful pearls and crystals.
Satine set: Silver chains trimmings with rose cultured pearl crowned by white crystals.
Puccini set: Gold butterfly; fuchsia crystals; purple, coral and alabaster pearls. Metallic-pink leather strap for the large bracelet to wear on the upper arm or the ankle.
Dragonfly set: Delicate silver dragonfly alighted on a stream of white pearls. Sautoir in the spirit of a rosary.
Angel and Devil set: An angel perched on a peach-coloured pearl and his demoniac twin on a grey pearl.
