Rado moves seamlessly to extend watch line

This rotating picture shows the new r5.5 Automatic created by British industrial designer Jasper Morrison

SWITZERLAND. Following the success of the award-winning r5.5 collection, Swiss watch maker Rado is unveiling a line extension: the r5.5 Automatic.

With the new Swiss-made watch, Rado has continued its successful collaboration with the British industrial designer Jasper Morrison.

The watch is made from high-tech ceramics and features a seamless fusion of the case and bracelet. The links are gradually reduced so the watch appears as one. The radius of the square dial gives the collection its name.

The white luminous indexes and three hands are designed to provide a dramatic contrast to the deep black matt of the dial, covered by sapphire crystal. The date is positioned at 3 o’clock, while the ceramic crown is black matt.

The automatic movement is revealed through the transparent sapphire crystal case back.
