UAE. Abu Dhabi Duty Free (ADDF) today announced that it is to issue Requests For Proposals (RFPs) from international and local companies interested in establishing operations in Terminals One and Three at Abu Dhabi International Airport.

With a view to having the successful applicants operational by the end of Q1 2008, ADDF said it would be accepting proposals for select categories in both terminals for Gold and Jewellery, Electronics, Watches, Books and Magazines, with additional proposals for Fashion and Leather, Watches and Eyewear (Sunglasses) being accepted for T3 only.

ADDF said it is the Middle East’s number one retailer by average spend per customer.

“We are pleased to announce that Abu Dhabi Duty Free will shortly be inviting interest from international and local retail operators who are keen to partner and continue building on the success and innovation that our travel retail environment offers,” said ADDF Managing Director Mohamed Mounib (pictured).

Mounib originally hinted at this move at the recent ACI Airport Business Forum in Dubai, after indicating that partnerships were being sought so as to add value to the retail experience at Abu Dhabi International Airport. An official announcement on the release date of the RFPs is set to be made soon.
