INDIA. Plus Max Duty Free subsidiary Agate International has unveiled two duty free stores in ICP Petrapole, West Bengal. ICP Petrapole is South Asia’s largest land port.
One store is in the departures area, the other in arrivals. The offer is led by liquor, cigarettes, perfumes and confectionery.
The shops were inaugurated on 23 November with Plus Max Managing Director Dato Prakadeesh Kumar in attendance, alongside senior officials from the Land Ports Authority of India, the port’s Customs and Immigration departments, and the Border Security Force.

ICP Petrapole is located along the international border between India and Bangladesh, approximately 80 kilometres from the city of Kolkata.
About 30% of land-based trade between the two countries takes place through the port.

The port began operations in February 2016, and is the point of border crossing for more than two million people each year.
Plus Max Duty Free also operates duty free stores in Malaysia, India, Hong Kong and Africa.

Plus Max-Way Holdings Group currently operates 14 duty free stores, four duty free private bonded warehouses and duty paid shops at various locations throughout Peninsular Malaysia. Agate Duty Free was a pioneer of the duty free retail business in Malaysia in the 1980s at Subang International Airport.
