FRANCE. The Air France-KLM Group transported +4.4% more passengers in September compared to the same month last year.
Some 5.7 million people flew on the airlines this September.
The group noted that the results were “driven notably by strong demand on transatlantic routes and especially on the North American network”.
North and South America traffic rose +8.1% compared to last September. The Asia Pacific market also posted strong growth – a +15.1% increase. Africa and Middle East performed well, growing +9.8%.
But in terms of absolute numbers, it was European traffic which led the pack. Some 4.1 million people flew the airlines in this sector, compared with 4.0 million last September.
Only the Caribbean-Indian Ocean sector posted a decline with a -3.2% drop to 214,000 passengers.
For the financial year to date, passenger traffic has grown +7.7% overall.
