FRANCE. The group comprising Air France and KLM has posted a strong passenger traffic increase of +21.3% this May, compared with last May, as improvements to its long-haul flight operations drive the group forward.
Its Asia Pacific routes saw a sharp increase of +75.3%, due to the recovery from the SARS epidemic last May.
Flights to the Americas carried +22.1% more passengers this May than last May. And passenger traffic for the Middle East and Africa grew +19.4%. The company said that the Middle East network has “recovered from last year’s impact of the Iraqi conflict”.
The group pointed out that Air France has “taken all possible measures to ensure continuity in its operations” following the roof collapse incident at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport’s Terminal 2E. “Despite these challenges, Air France is maintaining its summer schedule,” said the group.
