ARI boosts Moscow presence with Domodedovo contract

RUSSIA. Aer Rianta International (ARI) has extended its presence in Moscow, by gaining a five-year contract to operate new retail space at Moscow Domodedovo International Airport, the company’s regional director retail operations Bill Maxwell told The Moodie Report.

“It’s good news for us,” he said. Since the late 1980s ARI, with local partners, has been the duty free retailer at Moscow Sheremetyevo airport.

The award pits ARI (together with a local partner) against Domodedovo incumbent DUFRY (formerly Weitnauer). Domodedovo is one of East Europe’s fastest-growing airports. It is the largest and fastest growing airport in Russia

Domodedovo enjoys a wide spread of airline traffic and a number of key international carriers have switched to its more modern facilities from Sheremetyevo.
