Bacardi and Carnival promote the Miami Vice Mojito – 30/07/06

US. To celebrate the launch of the film Miami Vice, which opened in US cinemas on 28 July, Bacardi Rum and Carnival Cruises have teamed up to create an exclusive “Miami Vice Mojito” promotion onboard the line’s “Fun Ships” sailing throughout the Americas and Europe.

Adults aged 21 and older who purchase a Bacardi Mojito onboard any Carnival cruise from now until 31 August will be entered into a sweepstakes awarding a trip to Miami Beach where Miami Vice was filmed.

Additionally, adults who purchase a Bacardi Mojito when it is designated as Carnival’s “Drink of the Day” will be entered into a draw for shipboard credit during their voyage.

“With ample opportunities for sunning and relaxing, a “Fun Ship” cruise offers the ideal environment to enjoy a refreshingly cool Mojito,” commented Carnival President and CEO Bob Dickinson. “Carnival is very pleased to partner with Bacardi to offer this one-of-a-kind promotion that highlights this popular tropical beverage and celebrates what is sure to be one of the summer’s most anticipated movies.”

According to the company, the Bacardi Mojito is one of the most popular cocktails in the US. “It’s very fitting that the Mojito is so popular on the high seas as its origins reportedly date back to 1586 and Sir Francis Drake’s adventures in the Caribbean,” explained Bacardi Marketing Manager Abbey Glaser.
