British Airways goes live with Tourvest and Novo Ivc retail system

Novo Ivc, the provider of onboard retail technology to leading concessionaire Tourvest Duty Free, has announced that a new POS system has been implemented across the entire British Airways fleet.

The implementation follows the contract won by Tourvest Duty Free in October 2011 to supply and manage the UK flag carrier’s inflight retail business.

Novo’s inflight retail SkyPOS system will interface with Tourvest’s ground-based solution to offer British Airways a reliable onboard system that is “future-proofed” to manage complex special offers, detailed product information, weightless products and multi-base product uplifts, Novo Ivc said.

The retail system was specified, designed, tested and implemented in four months, it added.

Novo Ivc’s Tim Clifford commented: “We are pleased to announce that we have successfully delivered a reliable, intuitive and powerful point of sale system which will enable Tourvest to enhance their unquestionable retail and logistic expertise with advanced management information in order to provide British Airways with the product mix befitting a world-leading airline.”

He added: “All of us at Novo Ivc are delighted by the ongoing expansion of our long-standing relationship with Tourvest Duty Free. Over the past 12 years we have been fortune to partner with TDF on several blue-chip implementations and have the utmost respect for their levels of industry expertise and professionalism.”

British Airways serves 165 destinations and more than 75 countries, in Europe, Australia, Asia, Africa and North and South America.
