Campari opens pop-up store experience at Milan Malpensa Airport

Gruppo Campari is staging a Campari di Milano pop-up store at Milan Malpensa Airport to showcase the Italian spirit.

The Campari store is situated in the Extra Schengen area from the beginning of April until the end of May 2013. Its opening coincides with Milan Design Week, and underlines the strong historic link between Campari and the world of design.

Since Gaspare Campari created Campari’s secret recipe in 1860, Milan has been known as the birthplace of this famous red aperitif.

“Through the opening of the Campari di Milano pop-up store, we want to remind to travellers about Campari’s origin, as well as give them the opportunity of living a true Milanese aperitif experience within the airport environment,” said Gruppo Campari Global Travel Retail Director Matthijs Kramer.

The modern, refined design of the Campari di Milano pop-up store with a prominent red colour aims to reflect Campari’s status as a contemporary icon and a symbol of style and elegance.

The décor is enhanced with the latest Campari visuals on both sides, while the bold central statement of origin in Milan seeks to recapture further the brand’s link with the city’s design, fashion and dynamic urban lifestyle.

Continuing the ‘di Milano’ theme, during the months of April and May, travellers purchasing a bottle of Campari will receive a Milano City Guide featuring the best places in Milan such as cocktail bars, restaurants, design and art galleries, all exclusively selected by Campari.

Travellers in Malpensa will also have a chance to taste the Campari Orange Passion cocktail.

The Campari Orange Passion serve sees Campari and fresh orange juice built in a juice glass filled with crushed ice, brown sugar and an orange crushed to a pulp and garnished with a red cherry.

The recipes comprises: 1 part Campari, 2 slices of orange, 1 teaspoon of brown sugar, 3 parts of fresh orange juice, some crushed ice, and garnished with a cherry on top.

Kramer added: “The Campari di Milano pop-up store is a unique concept showcasing the Milanese origins of Campari during an important time of the year, Milan Design Week.

“We are positive that this promotion will further underline the historic love affair between Campari and the city of Milan and will encourage travellers to try the new sophisticated Campari Orange Passion drink, one of Milan’s favourite drinks.”
