Catania-Vincenzo Bellini Airport launches retail and F&B tender

ITALY. Italian airport operator Società Aeroporto di Catania has launched a Request for Proposals (RFP) for food & beverage and retail concessions at Catania-Vincenzo Bellini Airport.

The tender is divided into 15 packages covering 16 stores. The contracts will run for five years starting late 2013, depending on the expiration dates of previous contracts. The main incumbent operators are Aldeasa (duty free/duty paid) and Airest (food & beverage).

Rents start from 2% of sales for tobacco, lottery and games; 5% for parapharmacy; 6% for newsstand; 12% for books; 16% for handicrafts; 17,5% for clothing accessories; 20% for gastronomy, pastry & ice cream; 21% for restaurants; and 24% for duty paid/duty free.
