AUSTRALIA. Christopher Gray, International Business Manager – Asia, Pacific, Sub-continent & South Africa for Paton’s Macadamia Plantations, is leaving the company effective 15 September, after seven and a half years. Also on the move is International Business Consultant Ryan Hill, who is joining the Edrington Group.

Gray is joining a fellow Australian company Farm by Nature, which specializes in processed food products, including wine chocolate. His role will be Director – Operations & Export.

Until a new appointment is made Lucas Roberts will manage Asia Pacific sales and will attend the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes this October. His contact details are: lucasr@patons.com.au or +613 9730 5916.

Company Director Robert Paton will also assist in the transition.

Ryan Hill has worked with Paton’s for six years and in that time has orchestrated the development of the Paton’s Macadamia export markets across Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and into North Africa.

He has accepted a position with the UK-owned Edrington Group and will be based in Shanghai. He expects to take up his new responsibilities in November. One of his last tasks for Paton’s will be to oversee the company’s participation at TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes.

Barry Westhorpe, CEO, Paton’s Macadamia said: “We will miss Ryan’s experience of the travel retail and export markets enormously. He has played a pivotal role in the development of our sales across the Western hemisphere, growing the business in just six years from virtually nothing to become a respected and successful supplier.

“We will be appointing a successor in due course but we would be hard pressed to find one individual who can match Ryan’s talents and his willingness to cover an extremely complex and diverse set of markets. We wish Ryan every good fortune and success in the future.”

Ryan Hill said: “I have enjoyed six fantastic years of personal and professional development with Paton’s and I will miss my colleagues, both within the company and outside, enormously. I hope that I have laid a firm foundation for business development in these regions and I will watch with interest as the company grows its interests worldwide.”
