Cyprus charity dinner raises more than €7,000 for special needs school

Music matters: The St. Spyridon Special School Gala Dinner was held at Larnaka Airport

CYPRUS. Cyprus Airports (F & B), Hermes Airports and CTC-ARI have partnered for an annual charity gala dinner to raise funds for children with special needs.

The dinner was held at the Diner Onair restaurant at Larnaka International Airport on 27 February in support of St. Spyridon Special School.

A live music programme was curated by Katy Economidou, a soprano of the Cyprus Operatic Stage. She was accompanied by violinist Marios Pavlou, pianist Agnes Sakkas, guitarist Dimitris Panagos and singer Alberto Mendez.

A surprise act -Greek Grammy nominee Demetra George – also performed at the dinner, with the USA-based singer travelling to the island to attend and participate in the musical part of the evening.

Another star of the evening was St. Spyridon Special School student Nefeli.

The total amount raised exceeded €7,000, including additional revenues collected through lottery sales and prize draws offered by various companies.
