The limited edition models mark Singapore’s Golden Jubilee |
DFASS Singapore has launched two new limited edition aircraft models for sale onboard Singapore Airlines and via the Kris Shop website. The two editions mark Singapore’s Golden Jubilee this year.
The news comes as the concessionaire is awarded a further long-term concession for Singapore Airlines’ inflight duty free business, as reported earlier today.
The first new model is a 1:100 scale replica of the Singapore Airlines A380, available via www.krisshop.com for home delivery. The limited edition, one-off model plane is made from solid resin and is presented on a wooden stand with a metal plaque. The box comes with a complementary specially designed printed sleeve packaging. The edition retails at S$988.
A second, 1:200 scale model is available for sale onboard and online. Made of hard ABS plastic with a snap fit construction, this highly detailed A380 model comes with landing gears and a display stand, and is priced at S$128.
To mark Singapore’s Golden Jubilee, the livery on each model features a specially designed flag draped around the A380. The blend of colours from the Singapore flag’s red to the carrier’s yellow is said to “signify the enduring bond between the nation and her flag carrier”.
This models are also symbolic as the aircraft with this SG50 livery participated in a flypast during the National Day celebration on 9 August, a first for any commercial aircraft.
