Early booking deadline looms for ASUTIL 2010

URUGUAY. Latin American duty free association ASUTIL will close early bird registration for its annual conference tomorrow, 15 July, with standard rates to apply thereafter.

Rates for delegates who register online and send credit card registration by the end of the day are US$400 for ASUTIL members and US$550 for non-members; after that date the rates are US$550 and US$700 respectively.

Registrations to date are stronger than at the same stage in 2009, the organisation said. The conference incorporates networking time, lectures, dinners, luncheons, coffee breaks and other social activities.

Spouses are entitled to join in the social activities at no charge, although they cannot attend the networking time and the lectures. Also on offer is a free fourth registration for organisations that have already booked in three delegates.

ASUTIL’s annual conference is a key event on the travel retail calendar, attracting airports, suppliers and duty free retailers located mainly in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Themed ‘Setting New Goals’, this year’s event will devote two mornings to presentations and panels, with a keynote lecture to close proceedings.

Networking time, another of the highlights, provides a scheduled meeting agenda which allows retailers and suppliers to get together to do business. ASUTIL guarantees five 40-minute meetings per company.

The conference proper starts on Wednesday 1 September at 8am, and ends on Friday after lunch.

On Saturday 4 September ASUTIL will organise a group tour of San Juan and other highlights of Puerto Rico. This social activity is also included in the registration and the tour usually lasts from 8am to 4pm.
