Keith Bonnington will be responsible for growing sales of three of Edrington’s key brands – The Famous Grouse, The Macallan and Highland Park – in a number of strategic European markets

UK. Scotch whisky group Edrington has appointed Keith Bonnington as travel retail manager, a newly created position at the company.

He will be responsible for growing sales of three of Edrington’s key brands – The Famous Grouse, The Macallan and Highland Park – in a number of strategic European markets.

Perth-based Bonnington has extensive experience of both travel retail and domestic markets, having worked in the Scotch whisky industry for the last four years, most recently with Whyte & Mackay.

He said: “I am looking forward to building the profile and visibility of Edrington’s Scotch whisky brands, which have exciting prospects and great potential within the global travel retail market.

“The Macallan single malt has just experienced a record year and continues to be the fastest growing premium malt in travel retail, while Highland Park last year launched the brand’s first ever duty free exclusive. The Famous Grouse too goes from strength to strength with the addition of its new malt range.”

Edrington Area Director Global Travel Retail William Ovens said: “Keith’s experience, coupled with his knowledge of the drinks industry, will be a major asset. Exciting times lie ahead, as we seek to develop our brands in this market and Keith will play a pivotal role within our strategic plan.”
