UAE. The second ‘Miles for Smiles’ fun run to raise funds for cleft charity The Smile Train takes place in Dubai tomorrow morning.
Over 75 runners from the travel retail industry will take part in the 10k/5k event, which takes place at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel running track.
The Moodie Report has just made a second donation of US$4,500 (incuding part of our fee for moderating The Middle East Duty Free Association conference next week). This means that nearly US$36,000 has been raised, via the official site and other donations – enough to fund 144 life-transforming operations on children in emerging countries. Another major donation has been pledged today – details to follow.
It costs just US$250 for the simple, 45-minute cleft operation that transforms a child’s smile and life (please visit www.SmileTrain.org for details on The Smile Train’s work).
Every donation, big or small, matters equally in terms of the generosity of spirit it represents. Please do what you can, either as a company or as an individual.
| Isn’t it fantastic that we can come together as an industry and do something like this? |

It takes place just before the MEDFA Conference and Dubai Duty Free Golf World Cup.
We’ll bring you a full report, including an extensive Picture Gallery, this weekend.
