GERMANY. Frankfurt Airport is to host a major spring shopping festival over 16/17 May. The event will include music and late-night shopping for visitors to the landside stores, bars and restaurants.
It will be concentrated in the main marketplaces – the Shopping Avenue and Shopping Boulevard – to the left and right of the central check-in area in the middle of Hall B, as well as in the adjoining line of shops extending toward Pier A.
Retailers will unveil their summer collections and latest product lines. These include Burresi, which houses names such as Dolce & Gabbana and Prada; sunglasses outlet Pfendt; Nike sportswear; Boss fashion; kids’ store Pfüller Kidskonzept; H. Stern jewellery and many others. The stores will host a variety of promotions, including ‘two for one’ specials. The stores will stay open until midnight on the Saturday.
There will be live music from blues pianist Rick Coleman, said Fraport, plus an array of food including fresh oysters, cocktails and espresso specialities prepared by a Barista champion.
Visitors can also go to the central welcome desk in the Shopping Avenue for a coupon entitling them to park for three hours free of charge on the two days.
