Imperial Tobacco will introduce a new travel retail exclusive pack for its Cohiba cigar brand at the upcoming TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes (Gold Village, GO6).
Cohiba Travel Retail Club 50 marks the brand’s 50th anniversary. The new line is exclusive to travel retail and is being launched at key European airports.

Cohiba was created in 1966 in La Habana, Cuba, as a gift for heads of state and visiting diplomats, Imperial Tobacco stated. Available in limited quantities to the open market since 1982, the brand is regarded as one of the most important drivers within Imperial Tobacco’s cigar portfolio in recent years.
The new pack joins the existing Cohiba offer in Mini and Club versions and targets travellers looking for premium and exclusive products which are not available on the domestic market.

The pack design is said to retain the brand’s key elements and emphasises its Cuban roots (a printed world map features on the inside of the pack) as well as its exclusivity with a magnetic latch.
Imperial Tobacco Global Duty Free Category Development Manager Nils Fehren said: “In 50 years the Cohiba brand of cigars has earned a global reputation for premium quality, innovation and uniqueness. The Travel Retail Club 50 pack enables travellers to celebrate Cohiba’s anniversary at an affordable price without sacrificing quality.
“If consumers like the idea of our Cohiba Club exclusive pack we will make it a permanent offer.
“The launch of a travel retail pack with premium packaging is to underline the exclusivity of the brand in the travel retail environment. It is the perfect souvenir for travellers and cigar lovers.”
