RUSSIA. Inflight Sales Group (ISG) and its Russian partner Aeromar have captured the concession for leading Russian carrier Aeroflot. They will operate with an initial three-year contract.
Russian catering specialist Aeromar, as concessionaire, will handle the direct relationship with the airline, including ground operations such as packing and cashiering, while ISG as strategic partner will handle marketing, sourcing, logistics, crew training and other services and support.
The partners’ first programme goes onboard next week, on 1 April.

ISG (Hong Kong) Group Managing Director Tony Detter told The Moodie Report: “For ISG, it is very significant. Aeroflot is a great quality carrier with excellent growth potential, in terms of fleet growth and customer purchasing power, and Aeromar is the leading services provider in Russia, and known for its high quality, which aligns perfectly with our company. And additionally for ISG, we will return to Europe in a much more meaningful way, and have a full team on-site to manage our business in Europe and Africa.”

Detter said that passengers would notice a difference in the quality of offer “from day one”.
“We have already beefed up the beauty offering including the best sellers in the Russian market, which often do not come from the big four beauty companies in that market, and we will be looking to expand the offer in the second programme, will launches international and domestic combined on 1 June.”
He added: “While 70% of the passengers are Russian, we will focus on that core, but with our knowledge of Asia Pacific and North America, we can meet the needs of the other 30% of the passengers in a much more meaningful way. Our Hong Kong headquarters gives us unprecedented access to emerging trends in electronics and accessories, so expect to see a much bigger offer there in the next six months.
“Aeromar will also begin accepting credit card payments in June, which will certainly boost sales considerably from the previous cash-only model.”
