ASIA PACIFIC. Inflight Sales Group (ISG) is to provide inflight services to Air Asia X from 1 April 2016. The business is currently managed by DFASS.

ISG Group Managing Director Tony Detter said: “Air Asia has awarded us the business effective from 1 April. They will manage the business themselves and have opted for a wholesale approach (like Cathay Pacific) instead of a full concession.”

ISG becomes the strategic partner for purchasing, training and other areas of the business, Detter confirmed. ISG already operates duty free services onboard sister carrier Air Asia Malaysia.

AirAsia X is the long-haul, low-cost affiliate carrier of the AirAsia Group that currently flies to destinations in the Asia Pacific region. The airline serves 18 destinations across Asia (Sapporo, Tokyo, Osaka, Seoul, Busan, Taipei, Xi’an, Beijing, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Shanghai, Colombo and Kathmandu), Australia (Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, and Gold Coast) and the Middle East (Jeddah).

The airline has carried over ten million guests since it commenced long-haul services in 2007.
