Joseph Ribkoff appoints Stephen Belfer and Brett Sugarman to senior leadership roles

Founded in 1957, Canadian fashion house Joseph Ribkoff has signalled its continuing commitment to innovation, expansion and brand building with these appointments

International fashion brand Joseph Ribkoff has strengthened its leadership team with two senior appointments. Stephen Belfer has been named Vice President of Global Sales & Business Development; while Brett Sugarman has been appointed Vice President of Global Marketing.

Joseph Ribkoff CEO Emmanuel Amzallag said: “These appointments mark an exciting step forward for Joseph Ribkoff. Stephen and Brett bring outstanding expertise in building international brands and driving growth. Their leadership will help us accelerate momentum, strengthen our customer connections, and reinforce our position as a global leader in premium contemporary womenswear.”

Stephen Belfer joins Joseph Ribkoff following a 12-year tenure at Marc Cain, where he led extensive commercial expansion and strategic partnerships across wholesale, retail and ecommerce.

He will oversee global sales strategies and business development, supporting the brand’s continued growth across international markets in his new role.

“I am honoured to join Joseph Ribkoff at this pivotal time,” said Belfer. “I look forward to working with the global teams to drive performance and operational excellence. We are not simply growing distribution; we are elevating the way the world experiences Joseph Ribkoff.”

Sugarman brings more than 15 years of experience from Michael Kors, where she held senior leadership roles in brand communications and consumer engagement.

As Vice President of Global Marketing, Sugarman will lead the company’s global marketing strategy with a focus on storytelling, digital innovation and customer connection, particularly with its core women demographic.

“Joseph Ribkoff has an incredible soul with decades of heritage, craftmanship and a deeply loyal customer base,” commented Sugarman. “My goal is to build the next chapter: a modern, relevant, global brand that continues to feel personal and authentic. It’s about evolution, not reinvention and we are ready to accelerate digital transformation and meet our customer in the channels she trusts.”
