King Power’s Antares brand enjoys international lift-off – 17/01/07

HONG KONG. King Power Group (Hong Kong) has reported the successful launch of its private label, Antares, at the Middle East Exclusive exhibition in Dubai in November.

The brand, named after its founder Antares Cheng, includes products such as watches, sunglasses, MP3 and MP4 players, digital cameras, home appliances and digital photo frames.

It was very well received in the Middle East market, both for duty free and domestic, said King Power Duty Free and Travel Retail Managing Director Sunil Tuli.

The products are currently being sold in Singapore, China, Hong Kong and Macau, and will soon be listed in South Korea.

“We are very pleased that the brand is getting recognition, and we are committed to making a success of it,” said Tuli. “We want to thank our customers for their support. We are looking forward to seeing the brand in more and more locations soon.”

Discussions are under way for listings in major duty free shops in the Middle East, as well domestic stores in that region. Negotiations are also taking place with various parties for distributorships in the Middle East and Indian Subcontinent.

Tuli described the products as “very good quality, fun, innovative, well designed, and very well and competitively priced”.
