Sparkling skincare from La Prairie: the new Skin Caviar Crystalline Concentrate |
SWITZERLAND. La Prairie previewed the latest extension to its signature Caviar collection at this year’s TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes. Skin Caviar Crystalline Concentrate will be launched in April 2009, priced at around €336 for 30ml.
The product is formulated with the latest age-fighting ingredients and caviar extracts to rebuild, replump, replenish, refirm and reignite luminosity within the skin, according to the company.
“Our customers are some of the most discerning women in the world, and they rely on the Skin Caviar Collection as a luxurious necessity,” noted La Prairie President Lynne Florio.
“When we launch a new product within the collection, it must deliver on the caviar mantra: be the very best, most luxurious skin treatment money can buy, the best that science can create.”
Skin Caviar Crystalline Concentrate features La Prairie’s exclusive Cellular Complex, said to help stimulate the skin’s natural repair process. It also incorporates caviar extract, claimed to help speed up the natural production of collagen, thereby encouraging firmer, younger-looking skin.
Other key ingredients include high-tech peptides, amino acids, AHAs and plant extracts, to deliver an advanced, anti-wrinkle, smoothing and firming effect; glycolic and lactic acid to increase cell turnover; and liquid crystals, mica and diamond powder to reflect and scatter light.
Also new from La Prairie in 2009 is Cellular Cream Platinum Rare, described as “precious skincare for the privileged few”. It will retail at an ultra-luxe US$1,000 for 50ml, and will accordingly be carried in very limited distribution.
In other skincare news, the company will build on its Advanced Marine Biology franchise, by adding an SPF20 to its day cream, which will retail at around €128 for 50ml.
Lastly, 2009 will also be significant for La Prairie’s fragrance business, with a new scent set to bow next autumn. In addition, the company’s existing fragrances will be extended with two lighter versions, called Silver Rain Sheer Mist and Midnight Rain Sheer Mist. Both will be available as 50ml edps, priced at €80 and €72, respectively.
