LIQUOR: Jack Daniel’s boards Thai and LanChile

US. The world’s and duty free’s top-selling American whiskey, Jack Daniel’s, has been listed onboard Thai Airways International and LanChile.

Thai Airways International has chosen Jack Daniel’s “Scenes from Lynchburg” for its inflight retail offer. The limited-edition range depicts various scenes from Lynchburg, Tennessee, home of the Jack Daniel’s distillery.

Vice-president and director of Brown-Forman Duty Free, Patrick Moran said the company plans to introduce a new entry to the “Scenes from Lynchburg” range every year.

“We are very pleased to see Jack Daniel’s “˜Scenes from Lynchburg’ added to the inflight duty free offerings of an airline of Thai Airways International’s stature,” Moran added.

Thai Airways International serves 72 destinations in 37 countries worldwide. Its inflight programme is managed by Traveler International of Japan in conjunction with Centaur Travel Retail, which is acting as product advisor. Centaur is run by Rakhita Jayawardena, the world’s most experienced inflight sales executive. Meanwhile, LanChile, the Chilean national carrier, is adding 100cl bottles of Jack Daniel’s to its inflight range.

Jack Daniel’s sold 236,000 9-litre cases in duty free in 2001, according to the Duty Free Intelligence Centre.
