Lotte Duty Free scores double triumph at major web awards

Innovation and investment pays off for Lotte Duty Free

SOUTH KOREA. Lotte Duty Free Shop won two awards at ‘2017 Web Awards Korea’, the country’s leading website awards programme.

Each year South Korea’s most effective and innovative websites are judged by the Korean Internet Experts Association.

Lotte Duty Free won the awards for its shopping site (www.lottedfs.com) and publicity site (kr.lottedfs.com), in the overall shopping mall and company promotion categories, respectively.

Evaluation was based on 18 performance indicators across six disciplines, including visual design, UI (user interface) design, technology, content and service marketing.

Lotte Internet Duty Free, the department which received the awards, upgraded its online shopping environment in September. By introducing a global integrated next-generation system, it sought to maximise user convenience in  product reservation and language compatibility. The company also strove to optimise customisation and personalisation through advanced client analysis.

The Lotte Duty Free promotional site is produced in four languages – Korean, Chinese, Japanese and English. The retailer described it as a multinational PR channel that strengthens the Lotte Duty Free brand and provides content specific to the retailer. In August, it was awarded the gold medal in the international business website division for innovative layout and design at the Asia-Pacific Stevie Awards.

“The online channel is another growth engine for the country’s duty free industry, including Lotte Duty Free,” said Lotte Duty Free CEO Jang Sun-woo. “Lotte Duty Free is continuing to strengthen its competitiveness as Korea’s leading duty free shop. We constantly strive to reinvent ourselves.”
