LS travel retail opens four stores at Los Angeles International Airport

USA. LS travel retail North America has opened four new stores in Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Opened in the past few weeks, the four concepts – USA TODAY Travel Zone, Bienvenida Flowers & Gifts, iStore and Malibu Shades – are all located pre-security, in the Arrivals level of the new Tom Bradley International Terminal.

The four stores were awarded by Westfield through a Competitive Evaluation Process, which LS travel retail won in partnership with the Los Angeles-based ACDBE firm Concourse Concessions Inc. They join LS travel retail’s existing network of four retail and six food & beverage locations in LAX.

Said to be one of the fastest-growing electronics concepts in North America, iStore provides the same customer experience in this new Arrivals location as it does post-security, with a selection of hardware and accessories from Apple, Sony and Monster. In addition, this location features iStore’s new store design, featuring a new storefront, modern fixtures and more opportunities for product interactions.

LS travel retail’s proprietary brand Bienvenida offers an assortment of flowers and gifts, including boxed chocolates and plush toys, catering specifically to the “˜meeters & greeters’, and merchandised in a modern kiosk.

Also a kiosk, Malibu Shades provides a range of sunglasses from leading brands, while USA TODAY Travel Zone complements the arriving passengers’ last-minute pick-ups with an assortment of snacks, beverages and magazines.

LS travel retail North America Chief Development Officer Vadim Motlik said: “We are delighted to be opening these new stores. They complement well our Travel Essentials, Specialty Retail and Food & Beverage offer post-security, and we are glad to now be serving both the arriving and the departing passenger, in this ground-breaking new terminal.”

Westfield Vice President, Development Keith Kaplan added: “These four outstanding concepts, joining 11 other dining and retail destinations, enhance the traveller’s experience in the new pre-security environment. As local tourism continues to thrive, driving record numbers of travellers to LAX, we are thrilled that arriving passengers from around the world will immediately have access to new world-class stores to dine, shop and relax.”
