SINGAPORE. Luxottica Travel Retail will next week host its first Sunglasses Workshop in the Asia Pacific Region, at the TFWA Asia Pacific Conference & Exhibition in Singapore.
The event, on 14 May, will unite leading sunglasses supplier brands – including Luxottica, Safilo. Marcolin, Maui Jim and B+D – travel retailers and associated industry partners to share best practices in category management and case studies highlighting excellence in sunglasses retail.
As well as a category review, the event will provide insights into the latest applications of Luxottica’s category management principles in the region and an open debate into the major opportunities over the next 12 months and beyond.
There will also be a particular focus on the role and impact of training for the category, new strategies in developing the assortment for Asian consumers and how to use the sunglasses category to drive store penetration.
“Sunglasses has been a standout performer in travel retail globally over the last four years now with the category doubling in size over that period, and the Asia Pacific region has been at the heart of this growth,” said Luxottica Group Travel Retail Director Francis Gros.
“The industry as a whole has put an incredible amount of effort and investment into delivering on the huge potential of this region, and this workshop will provide an excellent platform to share insights that will fuel further growth over the coming years.

Luxottica has previously hosted four global travel retail Sunglasses Workshops at the TFWA World Exhibition in Cannes, as well as an annual Sunglass Awards ceremony
