Marks & Spencer Simply Food to open at Birmingham Airport

UK. Marks & Spencer has announced it will open a Simply Food store at Birmingham Airport in December 2010.

Set to open in the new central arrivals area as part of the One Terminal project, the store will offer a range of Marks & Spencer’s high quality fresh food, including pre-prepared meals, snacks and sandwiches.

The announcement coincides with Birmingham Airport’s £13 million investment to merge both its terminals, to improve the flow of passage throughout the airport.

With over 700 Marks & Spencer Simply Food product lines, the store will be an ideal place for busy staff and passengers to pick up breakfast, lunch or dinner, Birmingham Airport said.

Birmingham Airport Head of Commercial Richard Gill said: “We are committed to improving passenger experience and attracting quality brands like Marks & Spencer Simply Food as part of our development strategy.

“We want the holiday experience to start and continue as soon as travellers arrive or return to the airport and aim to achieve this by increasing choice and availability of quality food and drink options.”

SSP UK Air Client Relations Director Debi D’Arcy Bean said: “We have worked closely with Birmingham Airport to introduce the Marks & Spencer Simply Food concept and provide airport users with the very best in quality food choices.”
