INTERNATIONAL. Global premium wine and spirits distributor Maxxium Worldwide posted strong results for the first six months of the 2007/08 financial year with net sales of €1 billion, representing organic growth of +7.4% over the same period last year.
Maxxium also reported record organic growth of +10.6% for its core brands, which include Absolut vodka, The Famous Grouse, Jim Beam, Rémy Martin, Cointreau, Sauza Tequila, The Macallan, Plymouth Gin, Canadian Club, Piper-Heidsieck and Cruzan Rum.
These results were buoyed by a solid performance in the duty free channel, where Maxxium currently ranks second in global volume as well as value terms.
On a 12-month moving annual basis, Maxxium has achieved a net sales growth of +14.4%, including newly acquired business.
Maxxium Worldwide CEO Ben van Doesburgh underlined his satisfaction at fulfilling the company’s vision of being more effective and more efficient in building presence for its brands.
“We are delighted that our vision continues to deliver strong results,” he noted. “Over the past six months, in the effectiveness area, we have continued to raise our levels of performance by being the best at building superior presence for our brands in all channels.
“From an efficiency perspective, we have completed the global rollout of our SAP system, which further increases our capability to rapidly identify and act on market initiatives. As we go into our strongest trading period of the year, I am confident that we will continue to deliver on our objectives,” he added.
