Middle East Exclusive 2012 set for ‘top-level attendance’ in Dubai

UAE. A much revamped Middle East Exclusive 2012 (MEE) duty free and luxury goods exhibition is set to take place on 25-27 November at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Event organiser Channels Exhibitions has made clear its ambition to raise the status of the exhibition from a regional show to a truly international one sited in one of travel retail’s most vibrant regions.

Underlining that ambition, the event will this year for the first time be jointly presented by the Middle East Duty Free Association (MEDFA) and Channels Exhibitions, and take place alongside the MEDFA Conference (26-27 November). It also times nicely with the Dubai Duty Free Golf World Cup (28-29 November).

MEDFA’s support provides an exclusive opportunity for leading travel retail players from around the world, Channels said.

“We are pleased to confirm top-level attendance at this year’s show,” said CEO Justin Boutros. “MEE 2012 will be welcoming scores of VIPs, including MEDFA members and duty free operators from around the globe. In addition, we are expecting a very high turnout of international buyers, traders and senior retail managers.”

Not only is this year’s show “noticeably larger than last”, Boutrous added, it will also feature more top brands, more new launches and more international exhibitors.

“Now, with MEDFA’s involvement and the active support of other major players, MEE 2012 is becoming a truly global trade fair for the whole travel retail industry,” he concluded.

As reported, MEE 2012 will run parallel to the Middle East Duty Free Conference, which takes place on 26-27 November at Dubai’s Jumeirah Creekside Hotel.
