Nestlé brings brand new look to Fort Lauderdale – 26/02/09

SWITZERLAND. Nestlé International Travel Retail (NITR) is unveiling a new-look stand at the upcoming IAADFS Duty Free Show of the Americas (Stand number: 2227) from 22-26 March. The stand will focus on NITR’s informal gifting and sharing products, specifically Nestlé Swiss, Nesquik and After Eight sharing packs.

In addition, NITR will be celebrating its tenth anniversary in travel retail with a special cocktail for customers on 23 March and will, as usual, be presenting its regional retailer/distributor award during the week.

“The Americas market, particularly South America, continues to perform very strongly for NITR and we are confident these new lines will enable us to maintain our momentum in the region,” said NITR General Manager Catherine Saurais.

NITR is confident that business will hold up in 2009 despite the economic climate. 2008 regional confectionery sales in the Americas are ahead of the previous year (particularly in South America) and ahead of budget, equating to a double digit increase, NITR revealed.

INFORMAL GIFTING – NESTLÉ SWISS

Nestlé has extended its relaunched Nestlé Swiss brand with three new innovative product concepts (five new choices in total).

The new products emphasise the premium nature of the Nestlé Swiss range, with silver packaging featuring a “˜mountain’ of chocolate pieces blending into an Alpine landscape. Positioned at the top end of the informal gifting sector, the new products are:

GIANT PRALINES 230g: In dark or milk varieties, each gift box contains five giant-sized 46g individually wrapped pralines, coated with roasted hazelnut pieces. NITR hails this as “probably the largest praline in travel retail”.

ASSORTED CHOCOLATES TOWER 460g: This tower contains 90 individually wrapped 5g mini-tablets in five varieties: milk, dark, white, hazelnut and praline.

CHOCOLATE SQUARES 188g (milk)/200g (dark): A convenient flat pack of 40 individually wrapped 5g mini-tablets. “Unlike others on the market, individual wrapping makes this particularly suited to the Asian market,” NITR said.

When merchandised together the Nestlé Swiss collection provides “an eye-catching display, bringing real premium appeal to the Informal Gifting segment”, NITR says. (Clockwise from top left) the Nestlé Swiss Giant Praline, Nestlé Swiss Assorted Chocolates Tower and Nestlé Swiss Chocolate Squares

When merchandised together the Nestlé Swiss collection now provides “an eye-catching display, bringing real premium appeal to the Informal Gifting segment”, NITR added. This year will see a major promotional campaign for Nestlé Swiss, taking place in key airport locations globally.

NESTLÉ SHARING

To enhance the NITR sharing offer, the company has redesigned the range to offer greater “˜family’ branding and a clearer message to the consumer. With a premium look and greater shelf appeal, the Sharing bag range includes an Everyday selection (Kit Kat, Smarties, Aero and new 350g Nesquik) and a Premium selection (Quality Street and new 550g After Eight). The packs are all exclusive to travel retail.

New to the Sharing bag range and redesigned with greater family branding is Nesquik (350g) and After Eight (550g)
