Cutty Sark celebrates 100 years with an Anniversary edition and new digital campaign

La Martiniquaise-Bardinet-owned blended Scotch whisky Cutty Sark has released an Anniversary Limited Edition to mark its centenary.

Cutty Sark Brand Manager Manon Brochet said: “This limited edition emphasises the brand’s legacy and maritime anchoring, along with its adventurous personality and international dimension.”

Sporting a new label and gift box, the Cutty Sark Anniversary’s release is backed by a digital campaign themed ‘Never Ending Adventure’.

Launched during Prohibition in the USA, Cutty Sark was, according to the brand owner, “deliberately created to defy conventions”. The new campaign video underlines this “audacious personality”, with background music composed by Canadian rapper-songwriter Patrik Kabongo.

“We are very excited to let our consumers and whisky lovers immerse themselves in the brand epic history and discover all the icons which are part of our story,” Brochet added.

The digital campaign, which already features on YouTube and social media, will run worldwide with a focus on strong markets such as Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and key markets in Asia, China in particular.

“With China Duty Free Group we plan on activating Cutty Sark with promotions and special offers, mainly in the Haitang Bay complex on Hainan island,” Brochet said.

The Cutty Sark Anniversary Limited Edition will be highlighted, along with Cutty Sark Prohibition, in the 100-year campaign. This small-batch blend of single malts and grain whiskies is matured in American sherry oak casks to offer flavours of vanilla and spice. ✈
