No Turkish delight for Fraport but Hahn flies high on low cost carriers

GERMANY. Fraport said today that May passenger traffic figures for the six airports it owns or has a stake in, dropped -6.8% year-on-year to 5.7 million.

Aircraft movements were also down, declining -5.5%.

The company’s Hahn airport, which is outside Frankfurt and serves low cost airlines, remained the growth engine with the biggest jump in passengers – a +47% year-on-year increase to 203,032 passengers, Fraport said.

Passenger levels dropped -29% at the company’s Antalya airport in Turkey. This showed some recovery after declines of -41% in April and -36% in March, when the war in Iraq was at its peak.

As previously reported, May passenger levels dropped -5.3% to 3.9 million at Fraport’s flagship airport, Frankfurt .
