Nuance introduces online pre-order shopping service at Bengaluru

INDIA. Nuance India has introduced an online pre-order service for duty free shopping at Bengaluru Kempegowda International Airport, which the retailer said was a first for the country.

All products available at the duty free stores can be found at www.bengalurudutyfree.in. Passengers can pre-order and pick up at the airport. All applicable discounts and promotions will also be available upon purchase through the website. Nuance India said it had introduced this service “to cater to the busy, tech-savvy passengers, who constitute the majority of international passengers” at the airport.

The “easy to navigate” shopping portal can be accessed by passengers over the age of 18. The website is also compatible across laptops and desktops, smartphones and tablets.

The pre-order move by Nuance is said to be a first for India

The company noted: “It gives travellers the opportunity to plan purchases prior to their journey, order products through the website and collect them at the airport upon showing their passport. This service ensures that even those passengers who don’t have the time to browse through the vast selection at the duty free outlet have the opportunity to take home products and gifts for themselves and their loved ones.”

Nuance India Country Head Anirban Dutta Chowdhury said: “Technology is at everyone’s fingertips and we are offering travellers ease of shopping as they are in transit to the airport. This new initiative will not only save time for the travellers, but also brings exciting offers, discounts and the widest range of liquor, perfumes & cosmetics, confectionery and electronics all online at our website.

“After you have cleared security, just come to our Duty Free Store, show your passport, and pick up your selected items. And, if you have missed out the pre-booking while leaving the country, you can still do so before boarding your flight back to Bengaluru and collect your purchases after your travel upon arrival.”

Bangalore International Airport Limited Managing Director Sanjay Reddy said: “We are committed to elevating the experience of passengers at every touch point at the airport and the web has opened up numerous opportunities for engagement. Our success is dependent on the efforts of our partners and I must commend Nuance India for this initiative which creates new opportunities to delight passengers. Bangalore is known for its technology prowess and it is fitting that this service is launched here for the first time in India.”
