Oettinger Davidoff has released a limited-edition Special 53 – Capa Dominicana Perfecto featuring tobaccos from the Dominican Republic. It will be available from July through selected Davidoff-appointed merchants, flagship outlets and travel retail stores.

“A pure Dominican blend as well as a perfecto with 53-ring gauge were firsts in our industry [in 2002 when the blend was created],” Oettinger Davidoff said. “Bringing back this cigar after 18 years was an even greater challenge that is now masterfully accomplished.”
Special 53 – Capa Dominicana is presented in boxes of ten Perfecto (53 x 6 1/8in) cigars. A five-cigar pack, which is limited to 1,875 boxes, is exclusive to global travel retail. The wooden box includes an icon highlighting the vintage cigar’s blend.

Oettinger Davidoff Chief Marketing Officer Edward Simon said the limited edition – “an outstanding cigar from every angle” – celebrates the Davidoff pioneering spirit and efforts, which date back to the 1990s, to craft a blend of 100% Dominican tobaccos.
“It is this achievement, of leading the way to make the cultivation of wrapper tobaccos in the Dominican a reality, that we celebrate today with the re-release of this limited edition.”
Special 53 Capa Dominicana is released within Davidoff’s Vintage Blend series of cigars which features tobaccos aged for up to ten years.
