JORDAN. Omar Hawamdeh is leaving his post as Sales & Marketing Director at border and port shop retailer Jordanian Duty Free Shops, effective today. He played a key role in the rapid rise of the retailer’s business in recent years.
In a note to partners in the industry, he said: “It saddens me to write you today and inform you that as of 17 January 2008, I shall no longer be a part of the JDF team. It has been an honour dealing with such a calibre of professionals throughout the industry and a pleasure meeting those I was lucky to encounter.”
His successor has yet to be appointed. Hawamdeh said he expected the transition to a new sales and marketing chief to be a smooth one.
