SPAIN. Passenger traffic through Spain’s airports reached 13.9 million in March 2005, up +12.1% relative to March 2004, according to the Spanish airports authority AENA.
International passenger traffic increased by +12.8% to reach 7.6 million. As in other countries, the figures were boosted by the fact that Easter fell in March instead of April.
In terms of individual airports, Madrid-Barajas maintained a comfortable lead, handling just under 3.5 million passengers. Its +18.1% growth in international passenger volumes was particularly impressive.
