Patrick Piana appointed CEO of Rémy Martin – 28/08/09

FRANCE. Rémy Cointreau has appointed Patrick Piana as Chief Executive Officer of Rémy Martin.

Piana will assume overall responsibility for Rémy Martin. He will be in charge of managing the Brand and Communication teams, the Manufacturing and Development teams, those responsible for eaux-de-vie procurement and the preparation of products, as well as the financial control operations of Rémy Martin’s Cognac activities.

He will be based in Cognac and will report to Rémy Cointreau Group Executive Vice President Brands Strategy and Development Christian Liabastre.

Piana, 42, graduated with a marketing and strategy DEA (Master’s degree) from the Université de Paris Dauphine. Over the past 17 years he has acquired sound international experience in managing luxury and consumer goods with global leaders such as Philip Morris, LVMH and Pernod Ricard, the company said.

He began his career with Philip Morris, before being appointed Senior Vice President of Moët Hennessy USA. Since 2007, he has acted as Senior Vice President of Pernod Ricard USA, in charge of the development in the US market of the Pernod Ricard Group’s brands, as well as the international development of the Wild Turkey brand.
