FRANCE. Pernod Ricard signed an agreement with Arcus Gruppen AS yesterday evening for the disposal of the Grönstedts Cognac, Star Gin, Red Port and Dry Anis brands.
The French drinks company has committed to the European Commission’s terms to divest these brands as part of the acquisition of V&S Vin & Sprit AB, which was finalised on 23 July 2008.
The transaction is expected to be completed in early 2009 after the agreement of the relevant competition authorities has been attained, including the approval by the European Commission.
Arcus Gruppen AS is a Norwegian company and a subsidiary of the Swedish investment company Ratos.
