UK. Portland has announced five new appointments to its fast-growing design team.
Paul Tynan, formerly with Fitch for seven years, has joined the Environments team as a senior designer. He will be working on new project wins for Diageo and Wigmore Sports, led by Michael Fern.
The Developments’ team will see two new members: Melisa Chan, a graduate from the Bartlett School of Architecture, formerly at Space Syntax and Imagination and Nikhil Pase, formerly at DP Architects in Singapore.

They will be working with Creative Head – Developments Markham Darybshire on a variety of mixed-use projects in the UAE, Turkey Italy and the UK.
Also joining the team are Ling Cheon, an MA graduate from St Martins and Alison Richings, previously at EnterpriseIG/IDU. They will be part of the Branding and Environmental Graphics team and will work with Creative Head Lara Farnham on projects for Inter Ikea, Westfield London, Abu Dhabi International Airport and several developments in the UAE.
Portland Director of Retail Lewis Allen commented: “We are actively looking to add to our team and hope to make some more announcements in the very near future. We have recently won new projects in Sweden, Turkey and Italy”.
Portland Managing Director Ibrahim Ibrahim added: “Recruitment and retention is a big challenge and we are constantly looking at ways to develop a culture that responds to individual needs and that combines the informality of a home/social environment with the professionalism of a place of work, as this is what today’s digital nomad generation increasingly expect”.
