QATAR. Qatar Duty Free is treating customers at Hamad International Airport’s Soprafino restaurant to a QIFF (Qatar International Food Festival) inspired menu, created by celebrity chef Massimo Capra.
Available from 21-28 March, the menu draws on classic Italian influences from Genoa and includes salads, pasta and pizza. Chef Capra himself will be at the Soprafino restaurant to meet and greet guests on 21 March between 6-10 pm.
Known for his simple and uncomplicated approach to classic Italian cuisine, Chef Capra is returning for the second time to perform at the Qatar Airways Cooking Theatre. He will be creating Italian flavours live on the main stage at MIA Park on 22 March at 6pm and across the three stages throughout the event.

Guests at RED American grill, located in Hamad Airport’s North Node, can also enjoy an exclusive QIFF menu, courtesy of Chef Andrea Dipino. RED, the latest addition to Qatar Duty Free’s growing restaurant portfolio, will serve a selection of international dishes said to be based on the travels and experiences of a “charismatic French traveller”.
RED’s special QIFF-inspired World Tour menu will offer different cuts of beef, including tenderloin, striploin or rib-eye, reflecting the culture and cuisine of different parts of the world. Customers can choose from an accompaniment of Mexican tacos, Chinese stir-fry, French spiced panko fired shrimp or have their steak served in Italian style or as a classic American dish.
Qatar Duty Free Senior Vice President Keith Hunter said: “We are looking forward to welcoming both international and regional travellers to our Soprafino and RED restaurants, to offer them a taste of the Qatar International Food Festival by dining with Qatar Duty Free. We are incredibly honoured that Chef Capra will be able to join us to cook for guests; he brings a sense of fun to the kitchen that will entertain diners and delivers outstanding dishes that reflect the passion Qatar Duty Free has for providing outstanding cuisine and hospitality.”

QIFF, which takes place between 21-28 March, offers a range of culinary and cultural events for the whole family, including Qatar Airways’ Dinner in the Sky and Cooking Theatre. Event organisers Qatar Tourism Authority and Qatar Airways will showcase ‘A Different Side of Food’ concept through a range of international eateries and food experiences that will be available at the Museum of Islamic Art Park, The Pearl and Katara Cultural Village.
Chef Massimo Capra commented: “My life is a series of great dinners and as such I continue to search for inspiration to create great food experiences. Qatar International Food Festival is an opportunity to present world travellers journeying through Hamad International Airport with delicious flavours from a special corner of Italy.
“I look forward to bringing my great love of food and my personal favourite recipes alive in Soprafino and on stage at the Qatar Airways Cooking Theatre for viewers to enjoy and recreate in their own kitchens.”
Qatar Duty Free will be providing pre-flight hospitality to all guests joining Qatar Airways’ A Taste of Business, Dinner in the Sky experience at QIFF and the opportunity to register for Qatar Duty Free’s luxury car draw to win an Audi R8.
