AUSTRIA. Vienna International airport recorded a slight decline of -1.1% in the number of passengers for April 2003, bucking the upward trend recorded at the start of the year.
Flughafen Wien said this was the result of changes in travel behaviour following SARS infections in Asia and the war in Iraq. A reduction in flight frequencies to Asia also led to a decrease of -10.0% in transfer passengers. Flight movements rose by +2.0% for the reporting period.
From January to April the number of passengers has risen overall by +4.7% at Vienna and the number of transfer passengers has risen +4.9%.
