Shilla lands another Changi contract with Bottega Veneta luxury award

SINGAPORE. Changi Airport Group has awarded a luxury brand name concession at Changi Airport Terminal 3 to Korean travel retailer Hotel Shilla, offering the Bottega Veneta brand.

The three-year contract for the 26sq m outlet runs from 9 January 2013 to 8 January 2016.

The award follows a direct approach by the airport operator rather than an open tender. The business is currently run by DFS with the same brand.

This is the second success for Shilla at Changi in recent weeks.

As we reported last month, Shilla also gained a luxury concession with Prada at T3, sharing the spoils with Valiram-owned Luxury Ventures (with Bvlgari). That followed a highly competitive open tender featuring 14 offers from seven retailers representing 13 different brands (besides the Shilla offer, Prada Singapore also bid alone).

The Shilla Duty Free has made international expansion a cornerstone of its growth strategy.
