SWITZERLAND. Swiss International Airlines (SWISS) carried 5.7 million passengers in the first six months of 2007 – an increase of +13.4% over the figure of 5 million for the same period a year ago.
European flights accounted for 4.4 million of this total (+13.8% more than in 2006), and intercontinental flights 1.3 million (+12%).
Over 1 million passengers used the airline’s scheduled services in June, +7.7% more than during the same month in 2006. Of these, almost 800,000 were on European flights (up +8.2% year on year) and just over 225,000 were intercontinental travellers (+6.3%).
