TAIWAN. The Taiwan government is studying the feasibility of privatising its 18 airports, including Taipei Chiang Kai-shek, an official at the Ministry of Transportation and Communications said Wednesday.
The official, who declined to be named, said the government is also considering allowing foreign companies to own stakes in the airports.
The government would need, however, to revise the Civil Aviation Law, which does not allow private firms, including foreign ones, to own the island’s airports, she added.
