Margarita mix: Quita Penas |
Mexico’s Tequilera Corralejo will be highlighting its latest spirits lines at the forthcoming TFWA World Exhibition, including a new ready-made cocktail product (Stand number: Blue Village E1).
No artificial flavours are used in the company’s new Margarita mix called Quita Penas, to make it as close as possible to a freshly prepared Margarita cocktail. Each 750ml bottle is 10% abv is decorated with a bright pink and yellow floral motif. The drink is served over crushed ice.
Said Tequilera Corralejo Managing Director Raffaele Berardi: “This is a really top quality cocktail mix with a very authentic, natural flavour. The first in a series of tequila-based cocktail drinks, we are delighted to say that we will be serving Quita Penas at this year’s TFWA World Exhibition golf tournament organised by Heinemann and Estée Lauder.”
Also new to the show is Vodka Boker, described as an unusual Mexican corn vodka presented in a deep blue bottle with a twisted effect. Initially launched to travel retail markets in India, Central America, Mexico, and Canada, Vodka Boker is also now available in New Zealand and Africa.
Described as versatile and smooth, and directly linked with centuries of history and culture, Boker is said to be a modern Mexican vodka with its roots in the past. Targeted at 25-45 year olds, Boker is five-times distilled and filtered through active charcoal.
Vodka Boker is listed in Mannah Duty free stores in Paraguay and in selected duty free stores on the Canadian border.

99,000 Hours premium tequila
Also on display at TFWA World Exhibition will be Tequilera Corralejo’s commemorative edition premium tequila: 99,000 Hours.
99,000 Hours is aged in single Kentucky oak barrels (no bigger than 200 litres) for 18 months and double distilled in the traditional Corralejo Charente method using copper and column stills. This premium tequila is presented in a rounded carafe-style bottle and is designed for drinking neat on the rocks or in cocktails.
Tequilera Corralejo continues to build distribution in travel retail for its range of top quality Mexican tequilas produced by traditional methods using 100% pure Blue Weber Agave, including: Blanco, unaged; Reposado, aged four months in three types of wood: French, American and White Oak; Anêjo, aged 12 months in new American oak burnt on the inside to achieve a smoky taste; Gran Corralejo, an exclusive reserve aged in oak barrels for at least two years; and Triple Destilado, distilled twice in copper pots with a column-wise distillation in-between.
On 1 September, the brand will open a new warehouse, a 600 metre-long building which will be dedicated to the maturation of 99,000 Hours.
The company’s key markets are in the Americas with solid distribution across all Mexican border stores and international/local airports through Aldeasa, Dufry and regional operators, as well as Caribbean duty free ports, Central America airports plus border stores in Brazil-Paraguay with Mannah Duty Free, Montevideo Uruguay and Argentina.
Sales have been growing steadily in the 74 countries where Corralejo is exported, with a 12% uplift in the last year alone. Corralejo has been enjoying particular success in London’s high-end bars, said Berardi.
