The Estée Lauder Companies joins Trinity Forum sponsors’ line-up as momentum gathers for premiere conference – 14/02/08

CHINA. The Estée Lauder Companies have become the latest sponsor of The ACI Airport Business & Trinity Forum – the world’s leading airport commercial revenues conference – which is attracting great interest both in China and internationally.

The Estée Lauder Companies is one of the world’s great beauty houses, enjoying a particularly strong presence in the travel retail channel. Olivier Bottrie, President of Estée Lauder Travel Retailing Worldwide, will attend the event, along with Travel Retail Vice President/General Manager Jean-Charles Séité. The company will sponsor the day two lunch.

The event, a joint venture between Airports Council International (ACI) and The Moodie Report, takes place in Shanghai on 31 March-2 April. It is being hosted by Shanghai Airport Authority. Platinum sponsors are P&G Prestige Products and Lagardère Services, the owner of Aelia and HDS.

Other key sponsors include Nuance-Watson (HK), King Power Group (HK), HMSHost, Dubai Duty Free, MCM, Shanghai Tang and Villiger.

The speakers’ line-up is one of the most diverse and powerful seen at an airport commercial revenues conference. World Duty Free Managing Director Mark Riches will arrive fresh from the opening of London Heathrow Terminal 5 on 27 March and will be joined by Bacardi Managing Director – Global Travel Retail Maurice Doyle in his first major address since assuming the role in early 2006.

The Irishman has been a driving force behind the launch of Bombay Sapphire Revelation, the extraordinary US$200,000 a bottle luxury project that launches just four days before the Forum.

Other confirmed speakers include: Shanghai Airport Authority Chairman and President Wu Nianzu, HMSHost CEO Elie Maalouf; Incheon International Airport Corporation President and CEO Jae-Hee Lee, The Nuance Group Executive Vice President Business Development & Strategy Ivo Favotto; Aelia CEO Jean-Baptiste Morin and Auckland International Airport Limited General Manager Retail Nick Forbes.

They will be joined by Airport Economist NACO (Netherlands Airport Consultants) and Innova Aviation Johan Schölvinck in a joint presentation with Guo Yanchi, Chief Architect China Airport Construction Group Corporation; HDS Retail Asia Pacific CEO Scott Raisin; King Power Managing Director Duty Free and Travel Retail (and APTRA President) Sunil Tuli; and Abu Dhabi Duty Free General Manager Dan Cappell.

The event will feature exclusive film footage of some of the world’s most cutting edge airport commercial developments, produced by Marshall Arts International. The two-part feature includes Hong Kong International Airport, Vancouver International Airport, ATU (Istanbul, Tbilisi and Batumi), Travel Retail Norway (Oslo), Dufry (Brazil, Mexico and Milan), BAA USA (Baltimore), Bangalore International Airport and BAA UK (Heathrow T5). The latter two airports will both have opened just before the event.

Shanghai Airport Authority is the proud host of the world’s premier airport commercial revenues conference

The Trinity Forum will also feature a unique insight into shopper (and non-shopper) behaviour at a prominent UK airport. French retailer Aelia has agreed to allow in-store filming of its duty free operation at Luton Airport near London. The filming is being conducted by Consumer Watch, a joint venture between The Moodie Report and consumer behaviour specialists Counter Intelligence Retail, whose owner Garry Stasiulevicuis will present and analyse the film.

The presentation will also feature an ‘Eye Watch’ mobile eye-level camera – a unique technology being utilised by Counter Intelligence Retail and The Moodie Report to track the store experience through the eyes of a consumer. It helps identify what shoppers are looking at or not looking at – product, signage, displays – and observes through their eyes how they look at packaging and products on fixture.

Companies and organisations set to attend so far include Aelia, Aéroports de Montréal, Aéroports de Paris, Aéroport du Quebec, Airport Authority Hong Kong, Airports Council International, Airports of Thailand, Aldeasa, Aldeasa Vancouver, Alpha Group, Auckland Airport, AWPL Retail Solutions, BAA, Bacardi, China Airport Construction Group Corporation, Counter Intelligence Retail, CTC-ARI Airports, The Design Solution, Devanlay Lacoste, DKMA, Domodedovo Airport (Airport Management Company), Dubai Duty Free, Estée Lauder International, Eye Corp, Fraport, Greater Toronto Airports Authority, HDS Retail Asia Pacific, HMSHost, Hugo Boss, Incheon International Airport Corporation and Innova Aviation.
