The Moodie Report.com hits all-time traffic high as industry downturn drives information demand – 02/04/09

INTERNATIONAL. The Moodie Report.com generated its highest-ever monthly web traffic in March.

The three key indicators – page views, visits and users – all hit record heights in the month. Page views – the number of times an individual page is opened on the site – reached 182,719 in the month, a startling +14.7% higher than the previous record set in October 2008.

The site recorded 463,881 page views in the first three months of 2009, up by +29.4% year-on-year. (The Moodie Report has tracked its traffic usage through an independent web traffic analyst since early 2003 and all numbers are available to advertisers and readers.) Unique users in March climbed to a record 64,201.

The website that never sleeps: This chart underlines the around-the-clock readership of The Moodie Report.com in March

In total, readers from 197 countries visited The Moodie Report.com in March, led by the US, UK, France, Germany, Singapore, India, Australia, Canada, Switzerland, the UAE, Hong Kong, Spain, The Netherlands, China and Ireland.

The Moodie Report Founder and Publisher Martin Moodie said: “Tough times mean fast, factual and free information – the original premise of The Moodie Report – has never been more in demand. These figures make us more committed than ever to the digital media channel.”

NOTE: Last month the company reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a free-of-charge subscription model to assist the industry in the troubled economic climate. The Moodie Report is unique among travel retail and aviation-related industry media in offering its whole multi-media portfolio (including print) free of charge.

Additionally, in a survey of airport commercial directors conducted by The Nuance Group, The Moodie Report came out ahead of all travel retail and general aviation media as the best-read title.

Sometime late tonight The Moodie Report will celebrate another milestone as the 300th edition of our original product – the weekly PDF (now called The Moodie Report 7 Days) – is published.
