An extensive programme of improvement work in Toulouse-Blagnac Airport’s Hall C has now been completed |
FRANCE. A recent programme of improvement work undertaken in Hall C at Toulouse-Blagnac, featuring facilities dedicated to low cost airlines and a new retail area, has been completed.
With new pre-boarding areas for passengers, the airport says it can now provide additional operational response to low cost airlines requiring turnaround times of less than 30 minutes.
“We can use the same facilities to handle conventional flights and low cost flights, depending on the request,” said Toulouse-Blagnac Airport Chairman of the Board of Directors Jean-Michel Vernhes.
“Such flexibility is a major asset to attract low cost airlines to our platform, which now has the optimum conditions to develop low cost departures from Toulouse”.
The new retail area in Hall C, adjacent to the one opened in Hall D in 2010, completes the existing offer in the boarding area.
Designed as a “˜shopping street’ concept, the area (led by various offers from The Nuance Group) provides an extensive selection of stores: a range of fashion and accessory products under the “˜Attitude’ brand name, electronic products from “˜Sound and Vision’ as well as a 200sq m “˜Spirit of Toulouse’ area dedicated to gastronomy, local products and souvenirs, all with a strong Sense of Place.
“In addition to these three brand names and to satisfy a strong demand from passengers, we also provide a dedicated children’s area. All of these new features complement the beauty, alcoholic beverages, cigarettes and gourmet foods offer, already developed in Hall D,” said The Nuance Group Director Jean-Marc Lucas.
Other passenger services include a Banque Populaire Occitane cash point (already located throughout the airport) and a Relay newsagent, moved and expanded from Hall D.
“Opening stores in Hall C is part of a proactive policy to provide passenger services,” said Vernhes.
“The growing importance of our retail area meets the expectations of all categories of passengers, with a more extensive product range than what is traditionally found in airports.
“This quality approach is enhanced by the architectural quality of our stores. Our ambition, with the improvements completed in Hall C, was to bring this terminal up to the same standard as the new Hall D. There is now a real unity between these two airport Halls,” Vernhes concluded.
